The lock button on the inside of the door does not work when the door is open. Well, it is not a door panel as when I removed it and took a car for a ride the noise was still there. My next guess it the lock. The noise comes from that area and if the door is not properly closed the noise is not there. I will try to verify it this weekend. what surprises me though is that the the noise goes away at highways speed.
